Bhargava himself is quite an impressive figure. He is the founder of 5-Hour Energy and has a net worth of over $4 billion, mainly from his energy shot drink product. His initiative for this "new energy" bicycle project falls under the Billions in Change program which aims to creatively solve or improve serious crises in water resources, energy, and health globally. In September 2012, he promised to donate 99% of his wealth towards charitable causes.
These bicycles are expected to be delivered to India next year and will come in two versions: one for developed regions with a higher price tag that will partly subsidize the other version destined for developing countries.
