(1) Travel Planning Companies
(2) Real Estate Companies (Tourism Planning, Marketing etc.)
(3) Internet Companies
Above reference to the previous article.
(4) Travel Agencies
A. Basic Requirements:
1)-Generally no special requirements, relatively low pay.
2)-Currently, I understand that there are few people actually working in this industry among my classmates, who mainly sell travel products.
B. Job Content:
1)-Travel route planning
2)-Business cooperation with airlines and tourism upstream/downstream websites.
3)-Travel product sales (selling tickets, selling routes).
C. Prospects for Development:
1)-I don't have a clear understanding of the industry's development prospects; many small travel agencies unless they own their own business or become bosses will be stuck in a dead-end job.
2)-My friend who graduated with a foreign language major worked at China International Travel Service (CITS), which is considered stable but those from Beijing said it was too little money.
3)-Opening one's own travel agency or becoming an entrepreneur might be the biggest opportunity in this industry; however, the overall situation has not been good over the past two years; thus it is not recommended.
(5) Hotel Industry
A. Basic Requirements:
1.- Height! Good looks! Emotional intelligence!! Ability to endure hardships!!
2.- Foreign languages are highly advantageous.
B. Job Content:
1.- Front desk staff and dining staff roles etc., initial work can be quite tough with relatively low pay.
2.- Trainee program offered by luxury hotels such as Shangri-La or Ritz-Carlton but requires overseas experience and internships from both schools and employers due to their high standards.
C. Prospects for Development:
1.- Working at top-tier hotels like Shangri-La or Ritz-Carlton could make you successful halfway through your career; remaining challenges include endurance and emotional intelligence since you'll encounter non-rich individuals as clients according to teachers' comments about dark aspects of these industries.
2.- Other smaller hotels have similar outlooks on jobs with less technical expertise making them easily replaceable while young adults face severe competition for limited positions resulting in "youth rice bowl" issues.
And so on...
