在去年,被授予“终身院士”称号的事实显示出needle therapy in Brazil, gradually gaining recognition from the mainstream society.
According to Song Nanhua, in 2006, Brazil passed a law that included needle therapy and other healing practices into the public health system. Today, there are over 2,600 public hospitals with needle therapy departments across the country. Over 8,000 medical professionals who graduated from medical schools are now specialized in acupuncture. Song Nanhua regularly teaches acupuncture at medical schools and provides free services at public hospitals to introduce it to ordinary people.
Song Nanhua believes that only by truly showing patients and doctors the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine can we gain more understanding and trust for it overseas.
