(4) Travel Agencies
A. Basic Requirements:
1)-Generally no special requirements, relatively low pay.
2)-Currently, I understand that few students actually work in travel agencies. Those who do usually sell products for others.
B. Job Content:
1)-Travel route planning
2)-Business cooperation with airlines and other tourism-related websites.
3)-Sales of travel products (selling tickets, routes, etc.)
C. Employment Prospects:
1)-Specific information about this industry is lacking; however, it seems bleak.
2)-My friend from Beijing graduated with a minor in foreign languages and joined China International Travel Service Corporation as a national enterprise job; however, many people say the pay is too low even for Beijing residents with their own homes.
3)-Opening one's own travel agency or becoming an entrepreneur might be the best way to succeed in this field; however, given the current situation over the past two years, it is not recommended.
(5) Hotel Industry
A. Basic Requirements:
1)-Height! Good looks! Emotional intelligence!
2)-Foreign language skills are highly advantageous!
B. Job Content:
Front desk staff,
Food and beverage services,
Trainees,
C. Employment Prospects:
Luxury hotels like Shangri-La or Ritz-Carlton: getting a job at these hotels means you've already succeeded half-way through your career; the rest depends on hard work and emotional intelligence!
Other small hotels: their prospects are mediocre at best.
(6) Tour Guides
1.-Not easy! Not easy! Tiring!
2.-High-end tour guides or those proficient in foreign languages can earn extra income but obtaining such positions is challenging; there seem to be only a few high-level tour guides nationwide each year.
3.-Few friends have become tour guides since graduation...
4.-However, I heard that one classmate became successful after working as a tour guide for several years by buying a house before pursuing further education as a teacher at vocational schools - This path was good but uncertain whether they still make enough money now...
